The Parenthood Playland

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Yesterday we brought Hanif Aiden to The Parenthood Playland in Sunway Pyramid. This place has been opened for years now and although it is in my neighbourhood, only yesterday we had a chance to go there. Well, main reason because being a paranoid parents we are, we thought he is still small for this kind of playland, what if he fall, what if he catch diseases from other kids, what if he puke out of excitement..

We always brought him to Kidszoona at Empire Gallery, it’s a pretty much straightforward play area for small kids, like 6 years and below. Even the toys are for the sensory development and enhancing the interaction like balls pool, kinetic sand, role-play stalls, trampoline, ABC, puzzle etc. However, at Playland, this place is more like a big boys area, and I guess Hanif Aiden is ready for this. The entrance fee is RM53, different from what I read from the website was RM50. My husband said that include the GST 6%.. yeah, that makes sense. Each kid ticket allows one adult in, with additional adult at RM5 if I’m not mistaken.

Oh boy, this place is huge, I mean for a small kid like Hanif Aiden. He was frantic and excited running here and there. I was so freaking tired and I do not need an exercise like serious. I was running here and there, climbing and bending to chase him. This place is complicated, like maze and built so low that I have to bent all time. Jeeeeez. Hanif Aiden played slide, I played slide too. Hanif Aiden get into the tunnel slide, I too get inside too. It’s kind of fun really, God knows when was the last time I played the slide weeeee. But I am not ashamed guys, there are a lot of other parents doing the same as I do too. Following their children and exploring/climbing this castle maze too. I even spotted a father who stuck at the slide because he is way too ‘healthy’ lol

We spent about 2 hours there, Hanif Aiden had a lot hell of fun I think he would pass out. He was uncontrollably active and for a moment we kinda lost him. He ran so fast, squeezing himself in those tiny holes/mazes and I can’t keep pace. He lost from our sight and we were panic trying to look for him. When we saw him, we can’t reach him as the place is separated by wall/maze and he is laughing as he thought he played hide and seek with him.. jeez this kid. I don’t know how to explain this but the place is huge, well maybe not that huge but for sure confusing where there a lot of corners and hidden spot where our adult eyes sometimes might miss it. Call me paranoid but that’s who I am lol.

But, you no need to worry to let your kids running around the place because every designated areas, they will place one guide to watch your children. I also spotted one guide kind of block and warned big kids bullying smaller kids.

I really like this place, kind of remind me where I had been to once when I was small in One Utama. I don’t know whether that place still exist there. This kind of place could let your kids to explore (on their own, you paranoid mother). But, make sure you have lot of energy and suitable dressing to chase after your kids. Maybe if your kids are big enough, you can just sit there and relax while letting them playing. There are also hair saloon & massage shop located outside if you are irresponsible enough to leave your kids unattended and treat yourself HAHAHA.

I might want to repeat the visit again soon. Maybe when I had a good rest a night before and fit enough.

Hanif Aiden first movie experience

Assalammualaikum wbt,

My husband and I are quite a movie goer where we would just buy the tickets and made a sudden decision to watch it. After Hanif Aiden came into our life, the activity lessen a bit because we have Astro Best and we still go watching movie occasionally but that involved a very carefully well-planned decision making like picking up movie that finish no later than 9pm, be back home before 10pm, not including the guilty feeling throughout the movie session thinking Hanif Aiden waiting for us at home..

So, I've read about the kids friendly cinema lately and the closest to us is TGV Family Friendly cinema at Sunway Pyramid. I know many parents bring their kids to watch movie at normal cinema, but I am too scared and would not take the risk taking Hanif Aiden to one because I am such a freak mother. What if the cinema too dark? What if the sound too loud? What if he's never stop crying? What if he kick somebody's head? What if he fall while we finding the seats? What if he eat too much of pop corns? And many many other possibilities I created in my mind. So, I am pretty excited when I read about the Family Friendly hall especially the part where crying baby and running kids are allowed woot woot!

So yesterday my husband and I went to Sunway Pyramid by Grab (we were too lazy to drive lately..). The tickets are quite cheap compared to normal hall, adult is RM10 and kids is RM5 each. We chosed a movie The Son of Bigfoot. The cinema is not too dark and if you bring a baby, there is a changing diaper station as well. The sound system also not too loud. There weren't so many people during our session.

This is one good movie I must say. At first Hanif Aiden were excited and sit behavely on his seat. The sound and big screen shocked him at first but after a while, he managed to take them all in. But, towards the end of the movie, he started to get restless and wanting to go out. He played with the diaper changing station, jumping off the stairs, throwing the pop corns and playing with the seat's side light. The only downside I didn't like is the intro advertisement took too long about 10-15 minutes before the movie started. I understand that is the standard for normal cinema, but I guess they could make an exception for this Family Friendly hall. It's not like the kids understand anyway..

We left when Hanif Aiden started rolling on the floor and kept on pushing the door wanting to go out. That is almost the end of the movie son.. He kept on pulling down his pants saying 'Berak... berak' (-___-) Thank you Hanif Aiden for humiliating Mommyyyyyy. By the way, he DID NOT berak, he purposely saying that so we could take him out *rolls eyes* Luckily there is only like 5 to 10 minutes towards the end of movie and we pretty much know the ending, so we left. Overall, it's quite an experience for us. We might want to repeat that again, but next time, we will get into the cinema a little bit later.

Then, we went to Dip N Dip and again, he's having a meltdown, he ran the whole restaurant back and forth, rolling on the floor and knocking the cutleries on the glass table.. I don't know how your mothers do it where your child could sit still, acting all angelic, walking side by side and following orders. But I bet he's probably sugar rush from the pop corn he had earlier. Eating Dip N Dip definitely not a good idea as we added up more sugar that he already had.. And I am wearing WHITE that day. I don't know what I was thinking. Hanif Aiden has already had chocolates all over him and we just don't bother to change him. We thought to go jalan-jalan riding the LRT but we were too tired chasing him and going home instead.

But, one thing for sure, no matter how tired I was attending to him or a mess I look at the end of the day, one thing for sure, I would do it again and again. Seeing his smiles and happiness are truly a satisfaction to me. I will surely gonna miss this moment as he's growing up.. I hope by documenting this, it would be a memory for me to read it again in the future and reminded me how much fun my motherhood journey was.

Groceries Online Shopping

Assalammualaikum wbt,

I always love online shopping, I can do that anywhere and anytime, even I was busy at work, I always managed to steal a minute to at least browsing stuff at the online shopping site. Such bad practice. I have various online shopping sites as my favourite and numbers of shopping Apps.. Sephora, Zalora, Zara, H&M.. Dang, online shopping was also my chosen subject for my final year thesis during Degree. If that's not love, I don't know what that is anymore..

But that mostly for make up, apparels and buying baby stuff. Now I got more advanced that I started to buy groceries as well. I always do physical groceries shopping at Jaya Grocer and they do have online shopping too but too bad, they don't deliver at my house area yet. So, that's left with Tesco. I tried it for the first time last 2 weeks for a start and I was so so so happy because not only it cut my time by lots but I don't have to carry all those heavy stuff back and forth from car boot to inside the house, that's my most hate part by the way. They will deliver it straight to your house door. You only have to bring them to the fridge, I think next time I'll ask them to bring the stuff to kitchen as well if that's not too much to ask.

At first I used the Apps but I don't know what went wrong, it's kind of unstable at the payment gateway so I use the full website instead. I guess they just newly launched the Apps or something so it is still not stable and the layout isn't that user friendly. But, that is still the best compared to the effort of getting dress, get in the car, pushing the trolley from aisle to aisle, getting unnecessary things, pack the stuff inside your recycle bag, carry them to the car, carry them to the house, unpack them, sort, arrange them inside the fridge and racks.. ok, I am being exaggerating, the last part on the list I still need to be doing. They don't have the service arranging the stuff in your kitchen yet.

On the website, they have segregated the groceries stuff into categories namely baby products, fresh food, frozen etc to make your shopping much easier. If you already knew particular brand you wanted, you just type on the search button and voila! There is also a 'Promotion' button whereby you can view the deal of the day, where you can buy certain item/brands at cheaper price! That definitely very helpful and save cost too.

The only downside which I don't really favor is should your stuff is unavailable, they would replace it with something else or simply don't deliver them WITHOUT a notice. You only found it out when they arrive at your doorstep and show you the list. That is something I don't fancy about because there are certain things that I wanted with particular brand. Like recently, I wanted Hup Seng biscuit but they sent me Jacobs instead which I slightly upset because Hup Seng is always the best guys. And, I am a bit skeptical to buy fresh ingredients especially poultry & seafood because I don't know know the freshness. They might simply pick any, but that is just my assumption, I never really try yet.

After you have chose and made a payment, they will give you time to amend your order should you want to add another item in the cart. Then, you have to choose your preferred delivery time (usually the next day). Each delivery slot has different prices, the earlier it is, more expensive it'll be. But, not that expensive compared to the cost of fuel, parking fees, and the time wasted driving, going through traffic madness and finding parking spot. The delivery charges is RM6.

I think this is a very good initiative from Tesco and I hope it will cover more areas in the future. So I could actually help my Nenek doing her groceries even from afar. That would be so awesome right? You know lah, orang tua mana larat sangat nak keluar beli barang. Now, back to my Ipad browsing groceries for next week.

Family Bonding Time

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha to those celebrating. This year's Hari Raya is definitely the best for us Malaysians because we had a long weekend. Very long indeed, 5 days guysssss. Started on 31st August for National Independence Day, 1st September for Hari Raya, Saturday, Sunday and 4th September is the additional leave for the recent SEA Games as Malaysia scored top gold achiever. I started to feel lazyyyyy and forgot about work.. where I was working at again?

So, last night my youngest sister kind of organized a family bowling session. Being a planner, I sort of pushed her to make a reservation, back-up plan should the bowling alley full, reading review should they have the kids play room, where to eat next, should we make a restaurant reservation kind of things. But, being her, she says 'redah ajee', so what if the place is full? 'Then, kita jalan-jalan sahaja lah', like no purpose? (-__-)

Anyhow, since it's kind of last minute plan, like 2-3 hours earlier, so I decided to loosen up a bit and just go with the flow. After all, it's a shopping mall, so there's always something to do! We took a Grab car from Puchong because this is Sunway Pyramid we're talking about and it was weekend night, we do not want to waste time finding for parking. The fare was RM27 and I even got discount of RM5 off.

When I got there, my parents and nephews were already there and my second sister is on her way. We just took a single game slot because I knew I am suck in bowling or any games for that matter. This is my third time playing bowling and I suck no less. Haha. Nevertheless, we had so much fun because this is first time our family had this kind of outing. What makes it even memorable is because everyone was there, a complete family. The kids especially, being so wild and jakun but they were the ones whom enlightened the event. The champion for that night is my brother-in-law to whom I laughed straight to his face at first for missing the pins on his first round. Karma is real whereby I was the worst scorer that night that I had to passed my turn to Abah instead because I got fed up. Well at least my mocking being a motivation for him. He should really thank me.

Later, we had dinner at Thai Thai. We wanted to go to Pizza Hut at first but it was closed for renovation. The food at Thai Thai that night was.. ordinary which I don't really satisfied with. Maybe because it's almost their closing time, we were the few last customers so all the food were prepared cincai, I guess so. We don't even finish all the dishes and packed them home. I dined few times at Thai Thai before so I knew the difference. The food is always delicious but not that night. Such disappointment but yeah, that won't stop me from coming.

We got home that night by Grab car also and boy, the fare is dang expensive because it's during high demand hour. The traffic isn't that bad but we were charged RM47 for the same trip! Fuhh.. I should rethink of my career plan guys.. The Grab driver said because there were less active Grab drivers during festive season aka long holiday but the demand is high causing the higher fare.

After all, that was the fun night and new experience for us although most of us sucks in bowling. Ok, I rephrase, only I suck. Although it was a very last minute, but like they say, last minute plan is always work and always the best! Until next outing!
