Always and always be good

Assalammualaikum wbt,

As I'm typing this, Hanif Aiden is already asleep next to me (such manja boy this one) while husband still hasn't come back home yet. Earlier, we went to Sunway Pyramid to buy some stuff and his perfume (I promised him...that's why) and we settled everything at Sephora. Because husband's current favourite, Mankind by Kenneth Cole aren't available everywhere else :(

While there, we were attended by a very nice kind assistant. She is, ermm he is...I don't know which and which, you know, a guy with a soft side type are very kind assisting us choosing the perfume, briefed on the product although we only opt for the cheapest range hahaha. We chatted a bit with him, laughed, making jokes and all just because, we both sales people and we tend to be a bit friendly with stranger :P

I bought few other stuff as well for my colleague's birthday and because he is sooo nice, I even took one perfume for myself! I just can't resist, because it's Moschino edt with cleaning spray bottle and I've seen many celebrities uploaded it on Instagram! And..and..it's limited edition!

When he wrapped my gift while I'm queuing at the counter, I thanked him again for helping us choosing the perfumes and sorry for being such indecisive customers. Little did I knew, he actually packed an extra gift and passed it to my husband. My husband actually chatted even more with him while I'm paying and I guess that's when he touched his heart. Maybe, just maybe with his appearance, people would look at him, a bit judgementally because you know, he's a bit old and has a soft side what more with a full make up on, and some of us are a bit conservative with this kind of people. I'm just trying to describe, don't get me wrong. So, when we were extra kind towards him, making jokes, I guess it made his day or maybe we just got lucky today. I'd like to think both.

I was surprised to see what he actually gave us. I know it's a bag, but at first I thought it just a Sephora recycle bag or something, but it's more than that! He gave us a Tommy Hilfiger tote bag!! Screammmmmm! Seriously we actually felt a bit undeserved for this overwhelming gift but are so happy at the same time. My husband already claimed that it is his although I am the who paying (-____-)

Being a worse people that we are, we don't even get the name of the sales assistant. Our bad :( But, of course, this gesture, maybe it just small token from him but we are really touched by this. I always believe, just be good to everyone you meet, you never know what you're going to get in return :) I indeed is very happy that I made people happy, I gifted the perfume to my husband and Hanif Aiden sleeping soundly next to me. Nothing else I would ask, ok, I take it back, a pair of new shoes would be nice, thank you.

The Ikea Drama

Assalammualakum wbt,

2 weeks ago, this small family of mine went to Ikea, to browse some stuff (no such thing as browsing, you'll end up buying something!) and to buy a cupboard for Hanif Aiden. Instead, all plans and checklist are go down the drain. It such a dramatic and tiring experience for husband and I. To which, was HIS great idea to visit Ikea on weekend, while carrying a super active baby. It was 'fun', yeah.

We've been wanting to go to Ikea ever since Hanif Aiden was born but didn't because one, it's pack of people and would be impossible to push a stroller, and two, I do not want my baby to catch any unwanted disease or swallowing a furniture dust or something. I always get a watery eyes and itchy nose especially at their inventory rack area. Probably because of the wood dust particles. But, this time, we felt comfortable to go and bring Hanif Aiden along because I just purchased a Tula baby carrier, which is so convenient as we do not need to use a stroller. It would be an easy breezy wonderful experience and so we thought. We even had a smug drew on our face when we eyeing the people with their strollers queuing for elevator while we were on the escalator. Such arrogant human being we were.

My husband did the carrying job while I'm on the other hand had to bring heavy bags on both my shoulder. So not glamour. One is for diapers bag and another one is my handbag which also carried my husband's wallet. Gosh, I hate his wallet, it is bulky and heavy, more like a man-clutch to be exact. It always take a lot of room in my handbag. I do not know why he doesn't want to buy a smaller version wallet that could fit his pocket. So much of Awal Ashaari wannabe. Hahaha. We sensed something was not right at Ikea that day. First, the small trolley (to carry yellow bag) were ran out although before that we spotted abundance of trolleys at the lower parking area. So, I had to carry the big yellow Ikea bag on my shoulder, which made them 3 bags altogether. I must've looked ridiculous. Then, when we got to the bedroom area, it gets so hot and so uncomfortable. I got sweaty plus with so many people and poor ventilation, it felt even worse. I think they have switched off the aircond. I do not know why they did that but most probably they wanted to prevent people from lepak and sleep on the bed. Yeah...there are some people like that. Or maybe, they wanted to eliminate the crowd from Ikea. Gosh..what if they are potential customer? Like me?! And, another thing I was dissatisfied of, there were no Ikea staff around! I mean, there were one or two but not so many to accomodate these weekend visitors. Like are you guys on strike on something that you didn't want to reload the trolleys nor attending the customers?!

I couldn't take my own sweet time to analyze the pattern and material of the bedsheets I wanted, and just grabbed whatever I saw. Which resulted I have two quite identical Ikea bedsheet (-_-) My baby got restless and sweating like mad too especially with him packed inside the heavy thick material of Tula carrier. So, we put him down and tied the leash on him. To which made situation even worse.. He kept falling because he wanted to be free running around but the leash prevented him to. He has a taste and only chased after strollers carrying little girls, I do not know where he got it from.. Jeeez, that move so not classy dear son. My husband gave up chasing him, so he carried him instead bare hands. And that's when we wished we should've brought his stroller. We really eating up our words on people with a stroller earlier.

We didn't plan at all to got to the cafeteria taken from our previous experience and had our lunch beforehand at Absolute Thai. God knows how chaotic it would be. I heard the meatballs aren't as good as before? I also didn't manage to get my hands on my favourite curry puff telur because the queue is ridiculous. Malaysians are so into interior designing ey, no? But, one thing I'd like to give compliments to, they have now segregate the counters into cash only, yellow bag without trolley only and credit card only. So, in a way, it reduces waiting time especially those who only bought sepit baju and bedsheet ehemm (like if Mydin doesn't sell those). Those riches with long trolley could wait longer there, thank you.

At the end of the day, there is no cupboard and I came back with two identical bedsheets, storage clips and storage plastics. Maybe we'll go there again on weekdays, to get a CUPBOARD. Nevertheless, it was indeed a fun day for us :)

Avillion Resort & Spa Port Dickson

Assalammualaikum wbt,

It has been sometime I didn't update here. New year's resolution to frequently updating my blog seems to be in the drain now.. As I am typing this, we just got home from our 1 day vacation in.......Port Dickson aje...hahaha. But, it still big to us because this is our first family holiday ever! At Hanif Aiden's age of 1yo 4mo it is. It just 1 night stay because Hanif Aiden's parents is broke they can only afford for that at the moment.. Hahaha. On the other note, it is quite a pricey rate (for people like me) but we got a great deal from the recent Matta Fair (definitely will go again in September).

It supposed to be like approximately 1 hour journey but with a baby, it took almost 2 hours! We stopped to feed him lunch, making milk, yada yada. Our checked in time is at 3pm, and for the first time parents travelling, we sure did bring lotsa luggages. We booked a water chalet and it costed us RM360 per night albeit its original price at RM500+. Anyway, for my personal view, this water chalet not benefits us much since we have a baby and we kept the door closed at most time. Well, the balcony is quite dangerous for a small kid and we do not want to take the risk. We requested for baby cot and they didn't charged us for that phew. For me, the room is quite small and maybe doesn't quite well maintained. There is no knobs on the cupboard, there is rubbish under the closet, the fridge doesn't work.. But, yeah, we weren't that fussy anyway.. I do love their bathroom although we didn't quite utilizing it...hahaha. I love the shower and you can actually see the sea below you while taking shower and praying there is no one might swimming underneath hahaha. There are 2 beds which could accomodate 3-4 adults. Perfect for family with 2 children.

We didn't do much of activities here although we tried to bring Hanif Aiden to the beach and he didn't quite like it. Maybe because well, Port Dickson's beaches aren't that clean teehehe. So, we just took him to the swimming pool instead. Oh boy, he had a hell lot of fun pretending swimming with Daddy which on the other note, Daddy himself can't swim :P I'm pretty sure Daddy had fun too bathing in kids' pool without people judging him...hahaha, there are other Daddies there too btw. Being a lazy parents like us, we didn't go anywhere outside the hotel, not even to the 3D museum that most people hyped about nor to the Muzium Tentera that we planned to go earlier, well, we might if we lengthen our stay.. But well, there is no assurance on that too. Heck, we didn't even tour this hotel. We are the type of people that taking holiday to rest away from our chaotic life, ignoring all the office calls and just snuggle inside the hotel comfortable bed with a full blast air-cond.. Did I tell you that they even have the Pillow Menu? This is my first time seeing it, a bit of ummm jakun there...tehehe.

                                              Oh boy, he was scared

Lemme watch the sea from here ok Daddy?

This hotel has a mini farm with animals like chicken, rabbits and peacocks. But for peacock, they are mostly move about freely in the hotel's area. Kinda like Pulau Pangkor Beach Resort I used to stay before. And yeah, Hanif Aiden not quite amazed with these creatures. He didn't abused them (Thank God) but he just couldn't care less. First is the beach, now the animals, I guess he's not really a nature enthusiast. This farm activities include feeding the animals daily at 10am and bathing them at 11am every Sunday. Not that I took part since Hanif Aiden doesn't show much interest earlier.

We didn't take dinner inside the hotel because if you have a kid, it's nearly impossible to eat in peace or trying out all on the buffet spread. It would be wasted, plus they aren't cheap either. We just had dinner outside and no worries, there are plenty of restaurants there. Luckily we went on weekdays and these places weren't pack with people much. We had dinner at Satay Station because my friend has been recommending this ever since I was in CIMB years ago but I never had a chance to try since it's in KL. But now, this restaurants have few branches including the one in Shah Alam. Not bad, although it's quite pricey, RM1.60 per stick for Chicken Satay but fret not the meat chunk is big. They are tender and juicy too. We also ordered Nasi Goreng Kampung alongside because these 2 tekak Melayu need rice or else it isnt't considered a proper meal.

As usual, our stay is provided with Breakfast Buffet and they were ok lah.. I had sunny side up and omelette for husband and that girl who attended the egg station must've broken up with her boyfriend recently.. She smiled but seemed synical and girl, you no need to bang that pan too loud. It is not like I ordered Ostrich egg or something peculiar (-__-) As usual, typical hotel would serve choices of pastries (they served cold pastries grr..), fruit cuts with yogurt, nasi lemak (my husband claimed it was surprisingly good), rice noodle soup, sausages, baked beans, porriddge, choices of cereals yada yada. Too bad, there are no hash-brown waaa. I had roti canai but to my dissapointment it was quite hard :( Hanif Aiden made a spilled on the table and the server there quickly provided us tissues. The perks of bringing a child to dine, expect a massive mess. What a joy hahahaha. Oh yes, the hotel attendants here quite friendly, they would put their hand on their right chest as a greetings gesture us whenever wherever they see the hotel occupants. It warms me because I work in customer-service line too and that exactly what I would do to my customers (except the hand-on-the-chest part and provided when I'm in the office only).

After having the breakfast, again, we brought Hanif Aiden to take a final dip in the swimming pool before we checking out later that day. As usual, he was so excited! But his Daddy didn't ever let him go on his own, just because we are over-protective like that (and because Hanif Aiden is scarred). My heart burst with happiness seeing him laugh with his Daddy in the water. We didn't let him playing too long in the pool, because the day started to get hotter and we worried that he might get a fever.

This hotel also provides kids spa and nursery whereby you can drop your baby and the staff there would babysit them while you do whatever you like. I didn't inquire much about this as we did not have intention to do so but that was what we've been told when we made our booking at Matta Fair. Although we may want to go to the spa, maybe Mommy and Daddy would take turns instead. Paranoid much? Hehehe. This is the kids spa menu. Bloody expensive, you can use that amount for your own spa pleasure.

We checked out later at 11.30am, half an hour earlier as Daddy need to catch the time for Friday prayers at my hometown, Lenggeng. Family time sure is the best time. I hope we could spend time for another holiday. Well, next Matta Fair please. These are some of the hotel's photos;

Until the next holiday! Mommy and Daddy gotta work hard to pay for the hotel first though. Whatabout backpacking, Hanif Aiden are you up for this?
