The Conjuring 2 Review

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Sounds crazy right? Watching movie during Ramadhan? But that was what we did eventually. Haha. We watched the first one, The Conjuring, so we were quite looking forward for this one. Plus, it's Ramadhan, so whenever we got scared, we can pujuk our hearts that all ghosts are being tied kihkihkih. Sounds legit right? The decision to watch this is made in such a rush, we wanted to catch the earliest showtime possible so we could make it home on time. Because we are such a parent that dying to watch movie but feeling guilty to leave Hanif Aiden for too long, at the same time. And so, I booked showing time at 5.30 at Luxe, TGV Sunway which I regretted soon afterwards.

Our seat were the most front, right in front of the freaking screen! That was the only vacant seat, all were fully booked. I do not know whether there's something wrong with the film roll or the TGV itself, but the freaking commercial and trailer before the movie took so damn long of my time!! It took 30 minutes!!! I got so dizzy, nauseated and almost vomit. Luckily I was fasting, so nothing came out. We used to sit at the front seat before, but that was Beanie where we were layed down instead of seating and have to tilt our head up all the time. I did not know which position comfort me most, I tilted my head on the right, to the left, rest on my husband's shoulder but the nauseous didn't go away. Another reason why I couldn't focus on the movie that much. Of course we break our fast in the cinema..eating Pop Corns and soft drink hahaha.

Overall, I think The Conjuring 2 is quite over do. I prefer the first better. But that's the downside of sequel movies, the first ones are always the better. And I also think this movie is quite mixed up with Insidious. Of course they do, because both movies are from the same director, James Wan. There were few scenes that I thought similar with the recent Insidious 3 for instance, waking up at different place. Freaking scares me out. And, maybe my review isn't fully accurate as the cinema was full house on that day, so, whenever the scenes that supposed to be scary, there'll be some people laughing instead, so it's kinda subdued the scary feeling hahaha. Thus, effecting my judgement on this movie. I also read a reviews before watching this movie that there were many additional scenes that actually weren't true as the movie claim it is. Like the upside down cross for example. So, another point to feel less scary heheh. However that is, I bet, if I watch it at home, err maybe not alone, I definitely would be under the blanket and watching between fingers.
