Bad Neighbours 2

Assalammualaikum wbt,

It has been years since my husband and I went to cinema together.. More exactly after our son is born. Watching movies used to be like our weekly routine, heck..even we watched it during weekdays too after working hours. Like, jalan-jalan at shopping malls buying sayur and suddenly;

"eh, there's a new movie, macam best, jom?"

It used to be so impromptu and spontaneous like that guys.

Now it seems so impossible to do it especially after working hours because we just can't bear to let our son waiting for us for too long at home. And, I feel guilty to have fun without him. Now whenever we drooling over the new movies trailer, we're just like sigh,

"it's ok, I'll wait for Astro Best anyway..."

It is like a mantra that repeating over and over again to pujuk hati really.

Last Monday I took a leave and my husband did too and off we went to Subang Parade to watch Bad Neighbours 2. We wanted to watch this movie so bad because the trailer is so damn funnehhh and heck, we even watch the first movie like hundreds time and never get bored out of it...yet. Yeah, told the parents we went out to buy some baby stuff (which is verryyy true) and thought, let's do this, 2 hours of movie date won't harm anyone right? Hanif Aiden probably is sleeping through while we were out.

As expected, the movie is soooooo best gila! So so funny. Zac Efron is so hot in there! Hahaha. Too bad, there are many cut scenes which are not appropriate for Malaysia viewing which is very true actually. But but but those scenes are important too and impacted the whole storyline! There are too much dildos, nasty words, drugs, swears and skins in this movie. yeah, I think it is too "open" lifestyle this movie tried to portray which I don't really know how far it's true simply because I'm not living in States. Haha. But, we are all adults and it's rated 18sx so I believed everyone is matured enough to judge right? So, if you have watched the first one, it is recommended to watch this too. Until the next movie date...ermm, for another 2 years? Haha.

My #ootd that day. Wallis blouse, MNG jeans and Charles & Keith shoes. That blouse is too big for me (-__-)

Mommy's Cheating Day

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Being a Mommy, we always wanted to give the best of everything to our children especially when it comes to food. My family and friends know that I would prepare from scratch using the fresh organic ingredients possible for my baby's frozen stock food. Yeah, it is a tedious process but a mom gotta do what she has to do right? But sometimes, there are times when I just so lazy to cook or occupied with other stuff that made me take the alternative ways instead. And that is, buying the ready-made baby food. Yeah..there are preservatives and stuff inside, but screw it, once in a while, I gotta do this.

There are few brands I've tried, the famous one of course would be Heinz. His favourite flavour from Heinz are Tuna Pasta Mornay, Pumpkin & Ricotta with Spinach, Pumpkin, Veg & Couscous. He doesn't prefer the Only Organic..I don't know why. Maybe the taste is a bit bland (yeah..I tasted it). Then, there is this new brand I tried Hipp Organic and he seems to enjoy it as well. Just be careful, do not buy those with meat ingredients like beef bolognese or something. I don't think they're halal certified since they are imported. Heinz is about RM6-7+ for the normal range. For organic is about RM9-10 each. For other brands, it range about RM10-RM14 each. Yeah, child maintenance is expensive.

For cookies, I loved to buy them a lots because my baby love eating and I just love buying! Haha. The packaging are so cute I can't resist. I usually buy Heinz because it is available everywhere. For fancier option, I buy the one that has the filling inside. It's actually quite good..yeah, I do sneaked one or two when he wasn't looking hehehe. I bought these at Toys R Us at RM6 each but you can get it cheaper at Jaya Grocer for RM5.50 each.

For sweet pleasure (chewaaahh), I bought multiple brands just because the packaging is so cute! Haha. Actually, this is quite important especially whenever we are travelling, just to keep him quiet and occupied when we give him those. Reading by the name itself we know that they are tasty! Do they have this for adults?

To all perfect mothers out there, you can judge me all you want but sometimes, this Mommy needed a break too. I'll feed him whatever so I could feed myself in peace too.

Kacang Buncis Goreng Hati Ayam

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Today I'm going to share one of my favourite vege dishes. It's called Kacang Buncis Goreng Hati Ayam. Some people would add Pedal Ayam as well but I don't quite like it, so I ditch them..just because.. Haha.

Ingredients
2 handful of kacang buncis, green beans (cut diagonally)
Some chicken liver, cut into small pieces (depends on your liking)
Red chillies, 1 or 2
3 shallots, sliced thinly
2 garlic, pound with knife
1 spoonful oyster sauce
Salt to taste

Steps-by-steps
1) Heat the oil. I would usually use olive oil for frying vegetables.

2) Throw in shallots and garlic. Stir until it turns brownish.
3) Add in chicken liver. Stir continuously until it cooked.
4) Add in kacang buncis, red chillies and oyster sauce.

5) Add in pinch of salt. Not too much because oyster sauce is salty.
6) Stir continuously until the vege is cooked. Not too long because we wanted to keep the vege crunchy and maintain its nutrients.

Eat eat eat some more!

Assalammualaikum wbt,

It has been a tradition for my family to dining out when we want to celebrate something. For instance, first salary, bonuses and whatnot. Alhamdulillah, March is the bonus payday so every year, I took them to a nice restaurant and belanja them makan. Last year was at Jibby and Co and this year I wanted to bring them to another casual restaurant again but my humble mother requested to eat rice and tomyam...ohh..awww..she's such a sweetheart I thought at first but when the venue is Absolute Thai, it's not as sweet though. Hahaha. So, I chose Absolute Thai at Main Place, USJ because they served the best tom yam everrrrrr. Coincidencely, my Nenek from my father's side came to my house that afternoon with my Mak Yong and cousins and it just perfect, I could belanja her as well together. It always barakah to extend your sedekah guys..InsyaAllah it could extend your rezeki too.

My husband not with me as he has to bring my MIL to Seremban for some errands, so I went and spent a night before at my parents'. We ordered 2 types of Tom Yum, steamed and fried fish, vege, pandan chicken, butter prawn yada yada which I didn't take pictures any of it because I'm busy handling my son. I love how they provide plastic plates and cutleries to toddlers and although my son and his cousin (my sister's son) kept throwing them down, they will always replace the new ones. Of course, they were many rice landed on the floor compared to the amount made into their tummy but nevertheless it was good to spend time with my family :) Right after the lunch, we went to the playground with bouncing castle, cars sort of thing at lower level. Not our initial plan but the kids ran towards it, so as weak adults, we just paid the entrance fee and let them play..

The night before, I belanja-ed my grandparents and Maksu & Pakbusu at a nice restaurant called Laman Grill. This is quite a famous restaurant opened by Chef Zubir which gained his fame through the Malaysia's Masterchef series awhile ago. I heard my reviews about this but never had a chance to try one. Its first branch is in Shah Alam but we went the one at Kajang because it's nearer to Nenek's and my place. The food is ok lah. I ordered lobster but I found it quite salty and it's overcooked :( I tasted Pakbusu's steak and it was good. Will come back again for the steak for sure. The ambience is not bad, they had an unplugged performance that night but I don't quite like the seating arrangement. The tables arrangement are so close to one another making it difficult for people to walk. Especially with a stroller and a plus-size people. The patrons have to stand and moved their chairs further inside to make way. But, anyways, I love to see my grandparents happiness because they rarely eat western food and going out and seeing them finished their food that night and had fun  really made me feel happy. I was full just to see them happy.. Sappy, I know. Atuk was so cute, he wanted to order the drink with ice-cream and cherry on top from the menu but don't know what it called. It's actually strawberry milkshake. What a cute drink choice huh? Hehehe.

The following month, Alhamdulillah, another rezeki, so I took my parents (again) to my restaurant of choice, Bubba Gump and Shrimps Co at Sunway Pyramid. I made the ordered for them and they were all so so so good! I love the quesadilla here, it's crispier than the one at Chilis. The food I ordered is too much that they have to move us to a bigger table..hehehe. I always wanted to dine here (well, been here few times actually) but never with my husband because he is allergic to prawns and crabs (what a loser..boo!) haha. Luckily, they were meats and other stuff too on the menu so don't worry he wasn't left hungry.

The following week, it's my sister's turn to treat for another round of makan-makan at Homst Chinese Restaurant somewhere in Shah Alam. I heard she also got her bonus that month woot woot. It was weekend night and there's plenty of people there. The food is goooood compared to the last time I dined there. Maybe because I'm not paying, so the food became extra delicious or something. Hahaha. We also celebrated my second sister's birthday that night. Not surprised at all because our table located where we can directly see the kitchen and watched them taking out the cake from the box (-__-).

In the same month also err..I think, too many makan-makan events I can't keep up, was my Nenek's Birthday on my mother side so she belanja us at Satay Kajang. This is our usual spot ever since I was a kid when someone wanted to belanja makan. I remember my Atuk always brought us here when I was a kid to treat us Satay and his favourite ABC everytime he gets his monthly salary. I don't really fancy ABC and being a kid I couldn't finish them but I always asked for the ABC's ice-cream topping. Until now, if you asked him what he wanted to eat when we have the intention to belanja, he always mentioned Satay Kajang. When I still study and got my scholarship, I used that money to treat my family Satay Kajang as well. Such a memorable place to us. That night, as usual, he would order his favourite ABC and offered the ice-cream part to me :')

The following week, my cousin Jaja and Mak Yong's family invited me over for a dinner at Padang Jawa at the restaurant called Putera Ayu..yes, although the name is quite lame but the food is not bad. It served Tom Yum, butter prawn, crunchy squid and steamed fish. Another plus point it is located nearby our future home in Shah Alam. So, I already marked this place into my list. This dinner is also a conjunction with my Nenek on my father side's 80th Birthday.

My parents always taught me to put family first above all and that our rezeki will always be barakah if we give part of it to others especially our parents. That is why I don't understand why some people so berkira with their own parents. I mean, if you can't afford to bring them to fancy restaurants, you can bring them to mamak or tapau them roti canai, nasi lemak or something and they are more than happy. I myself belanja them at Pelita when I started working. It's not the food selection they cared for but rather the thought of them when you have something extra. And giving people food will double your Pahala  you know.. Who doesn't want double Pahala and what more with people's pray that you'll be given abundance of rezeki right??

Uptown Girls

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Just now I watch Uptown Girls on Fox Family Movies starred the late Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning (back when she was still a little girl and innocent). Gosh, this movie really brings the memory of my Nenek. Oh, a little information to fill you in, I lived with my grandparents since I was baby until I enrolled university. It was before the existence of Astro and Netflix or Youtube, we relied on VCDs to watch latest movies. Well, I was still schooling back then, so outing to the cinemas with friends was a bit NO NO. Yeah, my grandparents (apparently my parents too) were so overprotective.

As such, I would usually buy those VCDs from Pasar Malam...err fake ones (where do you think a school girl get her money from?!), it only costed about RM5 each then. One day, my Nenek went to Pasar Pagi and I didn't join her because I want to study and stuff (SPM pfft), so I just asked her to buy me the VCDs. I want Uptown Girls because I've seen from TV ads, it's already out in cinemas and the storyline seems good. Well, who doesn't love Dakota Fanning back then right?? So, i write the title down on paper and ask my Nenek to pass it to the CD seller. I even told her it's a movie not the song. Do you know what he gave to my Nenek?! That Apek gave Nenek a Westlife CD instead!!! Because, coincidently, Westlife was a hit for singing the song with the same title back then..so, it just made sense.

When my Nenek gave me that CD, I was so pissed because I really wanted to watch it and blaming the whole world for that mistake. I blamed the seller because he took my Nenek's money for the wrong VCD although he might knew it wasn't the one and I blamed my Nenek because I already gave her clear instruction. I even went sulking because of that (-___-). But well, how can an old lady know what is the latest movies on cinemas, or who On earth Dakota Fanning is right? I was so selfish. She tried her best not to let me down. Eventually, I got the real VCD the following week when I bought it myself..hehehe.

So, when I watched it tonight, this memory came to me. It struck me on my Nenek's love towards a ungrateful granddaughter and selflessly buying a CDs without having a slightest idea what she was saying or what I wrote. I could've wrote "porn" and I bet she doesn't even know what that is hehehehe. I know she's willing to do anything for me because she loves me above all. She pushed away the shame to pronounce an English movie tittle while standing there awkwardly at the CD stall. Until now, she's very much loves me although she is now blessed with great grandchildren and they could've taken my throne..move away kids! Haha. Everytime I visit her at my hometown, she would cook anything that I asked her to, she stayed with me during my confinement and when I forgot to call her that week, she would worriedly calling me asking if I was sick that I didn't call her. While, I am just to busy occupying myself with tonnes of endless works. I would feel guilty because of that..

Now, that I am older, I tried to make time for my grandparents, if it's not to visit them, but to at least call them. Because you know, they will not always going to be around, so cherish them while you can. And this applies to all your love ones..

Sleeping Disorder

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Yes, you read it, sleeping disorder. Not me but my baby!! Which...not really a baby anymore. My son has a sleeping pattern which every month, he will have like 1-2 weeks of nights where he unable to sleep. Not because of colic or anything but simply not sleeping. Sometimes, we would extend his sleep time later with hope he will have a continuous sleeping, still not. Or, we would keep him very active and sweating with hope he'll be tired and sleep through, still not. Why oh why??

Normally, when this happen, it made both of us turning into zombies. When he's not sleeping, he would jump on my husband and I, scratch our face, pull our hair and making noises. Now his favourite thing to do is to sit on my tummy and jump his butt back and forth! Sakit ya tuhan.. Mommy cry.. Or he would sit on my face and bite my nose (-__-) He would be fully energized and jumping here and there, climbing here and there causing both of us a bit of paranoid to go back sleeping. Because, there are few incidents where he fell and knock his head/arm/body. By hook or by crook, we usually would be half asleep while monitoring him. Yeah, it sometimes does pissed us off. Who doesn't when we're lack of sleep right?! We would yell and being angry with him and feel guilty over it the next morning.

Do your child has similar symptoms like mine? Or my kid just as weird. I'm a bit concern about it though because when we both don't get enough sleep, it affect our work productivity too. Some old folks say it's because beralih bulan effect sort of thing, but that usually apply to smaller babies, normally below 1 year old whereby he's almost 2 years! And last night, he climbed on top of me while sleeping because he want to hug me and lied on my tummy while sleeping...awwww..this boy is so sweet. It melt my heart when he does that, and my husband claimed that he would climbed the bed and kiss his face continuously while he's sleeping. When he opened his eyes, there he is this little fella smiling and giggling! You just could not be mad at that face right.. How la could we plan another baby when he's being extra manja ..surely would fight for attention..hehe.
