BFF

Assalammualaikum wbt,

As I grow older and been in many places, I would say I have friends segmentations; childhood friends, school friends, university, work and maybe some other events where I made friends with (rarely!). But of course, there are set of friends which are close to your heart, although you don't call or meet them, but you know they will always be there for you. These are special people and you should appreciate them and keep them close.

Yesterday, I met with my school friends, Manisah, Masyuni and Beeb. It was a very last minute plan, thought an evening before, and confirmation 2 hours prior to the actually meeting haha. People always say, a long planning will always lead to cancellation, so it's better to do it last minute to avoid frustrations and damages, well, quite true actually. I was contemplating at first because I needed to pack for 1 week stay at my parents, but screw it, I haven't seen these people in ages! We met at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya and I took Grabcar as it's only 10-15 minutes drive.

Oh my God, we really had a good time and endless laughs! I felt my stomach is cramp from too many laughing. It feels so good reminiscing old memories, gossiping and catching updates with their lives. We ate our lunch at Johnny's first then continue for dessert at Dip N Dip. There were just so many gossips to catch up! I felt so happy, because with them, I can mock them, fooling around like nobody's business, without being judged or heart feeling. A good friend is the one when you mock them, they will mock you back even nastier! Hahaha. Time sure flies so fast, I wish I could stay but reality and responsibilities are calling, hence us Mommas (Masyuni and I) left early leaving Manisah & Beeb doing whatever things the singles would do. Ahh..pure bliss. Masyuni drove me home as her house also in Puchong and on her way back too #savemoneyfromGrab.

I think this meet up once a while is healthy in any friendship. Yes, you may contact them through social medias and whatsApp but nothing beats face to face #oldschool. I hope this friendship will last forever. Amin.

Family Fun Time

Assalammualaikum wbt,

As I'm writing this, we just got back from Putrajaya to just umm..chill? I never knew Putrajaya during night time is so lively. I mean, in a good and healthy way lah. Unlike KL, where it is lively and happening with the social activity but involves money and requires to dress up for fun, if you get what I mean 😂 Putrajaya is actually has many parks/spots with fun-filled activities. The last time I know, only the masjid area where people would play remote control car/roller blade and such. Turn out, these days, there are other spots too like the field opposite Istana Kehakiman, the Floria Putrajaya and other place surrounds.

The activities that we could do are roller blading, skate boarding, cycling, or just simply picnic and eat with your family/friends. I love this type of living, so family-bonding, relaxing and money saving too. Just like in oversea you guys, instead we Malaysians do it at night, because Malaysia is freaking hot in a day hahah! The last time we went, we have no idea, so we just chasing after Hanif Aiden running around the field. This time, we brought his toy ride but he wants to just run and play ball with other kids pulak..hishh. We kind of forced him to play with his toy car, but it only lasted for a minute before he rebut with other kids' toy (-__-)

On our way there, we spotted this car decorated with colorful lights and we thought it just a replica but we checking it out anyway and it turn out to be a trishaw/beca! So cool, this is the first time I see it. We were contemplating whether to stop or not because our initial plan was to just go to the park, but yeah, living by a YOLO principle (not really), we parked the car and ride those. It is something we don't regret except for our tired legs because we need to paddle this car. There are two categories, a car and van and the charges are RM30 for car and RM35 for van. For car, it can filled up to 4 people while for van, it might be up to 6 people. The paddling part is deadly guys, it needs effort and strength, I'm not joking. Everybody need to paddle together then only it become smoother. I think my leg is toned a bit tonight hahaha. Who says I need gym? It was a lot of FUNNN! Except the paddling part of course.

I think this is a very good initiatives and healthier way to spend time with your family, but need cooperation from everybody to paddle together. This car/trishaw whatever they call is so cool, they even have a radio! Aside from this car, they also have bicycle, go kart kind of car, and a trishaw for 2 passengers with kids seat at the front. Gahh... I don't know how to describe it, but we didn't realize it at frist because it is at the other side of the park and don't have decorative lights on it. But it's way much cheaper because it only cost RM25 for 30 minutes ride! I started to liking Putrajaya because people here are so family-focus and into healthy lifestyle. Unlike Subang Jaya or Puchong where everybody are always in a rush and it's always about money, business, money, business. The traffic here are also smooth, no congestion and the driving are so relaxing. I feel like wanting to settle down here. But yeah, we bought a house in Shah Alam already 😤 I think I wanted to start going to Putrajaya as routine, but I'm thinking to wear sport attire next time as it takes a lot of energy to chase my little one. So penat ok! Or maybe I'm just old and unfit 😳

What do you want to eat, Sir?

Assalammualaikum wbt,

I love cooking and cooking has been my forte, luckily since I was young. Heck, I even took Culinary courses during my Diploma for the love of food and eating #perasan. My instagram feeds are full of food, majority my own cooking, #proud. It's my passion but depends on mood juga. If I were so lazy, I would rather sleep and call for pizza delivery. If I were extra rajin that week, I would cook something special. Just like last week, I cooked Nasi Minyak and Ayam Masak Merah. Yes, it was good man! My husband went to tambah, not just him, myself also tambah nasi few times, that good I tell ya. Hahaha.

For Malaysian cooking, I mostly get the recipe from my favourite cooking blog, Azie Kitchen. I always trying out her recipes and so far, hers are the best! Although the steps are quite meticulous but the results are the best! I also love to check out Instagram with cooking videos to get the recipes and learn other people ways of cooking. They may have different style but theirs may be better. And now, I have a habit whereby I always stalk and watch videos after videos on Instagram for cooking tutorials.

I've been uploading my cooking tutorials recently and kind of addicted to it. Haha. It's kinda hard really to record using Ipad because of its size. Yeah..my phone is very basic lousy one, I rely most on my Ipad all time.

Another bad habit I had all along, is to spend time at imported food aisle. Well, when I was still a student especially where I could be standing there, reading the ingredients and admiring, and dreaming that I would buy them all for my own kitchen one day. Well, I don't have a kitchen yet (my house isn't ready yet) but now I tried not to spending too long in the market for particular aisle because the shopaholic in me would just grab it and that would cost a bomb later at the check out counter. Sometimes, I lost myself and sneaked in some expensive stuff, well, one or two. I would buy a prime steak meat just to make a sambal daging out of it hehehe. Or the imported milo from Aussie because they tasted better or chocolates/chips or some organic stuff.. It is ok I think to spend a little for some good stuff right? The only thing I contain myself from buying is imported ice cream and juices because we're sharing house at the moment with other kids as well and I prefer not to share those hahaha #kedekut.

I overall think, at least it is good for someone to have a basic cooking skill, for survival. My father could cook too although very rarely but now he would spend his time in the kitchen helping my mother peeling onion. Awww..that is so sweet. I still remember my father fried chicken in a pot when we were little whilst my mother was away for Umrah, hahaha. It was funny, but the logic behind it, it cooked faster and save oil at the same time, smart move, Abah. My grandfather is a good cook, his signature nasi goreng is the best and I am lucky to be able to do it just like his. Even my mother can't, or rather do not want to, I don't know which *rolls eyes* My Atuk could cook dishes especially those sambal and goreng-goreng ones. For gravy-gulai type, he can do it but under supervision of my Nenek from afar. My nenek, of course, hands down to her, the best cook everrrrrr. There are so many dishes I still don't learn yet from her especially those masak lemak cili padi, rendang and complicated ones.
Harap-harap sempatlah, InsyaAllah, Amin. I think cooking is now not only for women, but for men too. Boys should learn how to cook, at least basic ones. Now is easier than ever, there are Google and Youtube. If you can't understand recipe, Youtube it instead and watch step by step, it just no excuse guys..
