Assalammualaikum wbt,
Last month or rather last year (lame joke, I know), I got the opportunity to go to the most talk about book event in Malaysia, The Big Bad Wolf. I always wanted to go here since forever but my husband won't just bring me, I don't get it why... oh wait, I know why, he hates going to places with packed people *rolled eyes*
So this time around, I made an early deal with my SIL, in case if she wants to go there, I want to tag along too! She is a book freak and would go to BBW at every chance. We planned to go during odd hours as she claimed there'll be less people (not!), and the weather during night is better. And so, we went there at about 10pm-11pm like that. Well, there are still as many people there but somehow it is less cramped. Maybe because the next day was Selangor state public holiday. I don't know how to make comparison really because I never actually been to one. What I can say, there is enough room for you to move about and space for relax in making the buying decision..hehehe. There were also people bringing small kids/babies at this hour! But yeah, they are all sleeping soundly inside their stroller. I am lucky though that my husband willing to take care of Hanif Aiden whilst I'm doing some shopping.
Of course I have my own list of books I wanted to find and purchase but to my dismay, I found none!! But, that just doesn't stop this shopaholic girl from spending, no. Later I found out from the loyal visitor (read: my SIL), that is actually a marketing trick of BBW. They won't put a complete series of one title at one shot. For example, The Shopaholic series are about 5 altogether, let's name it series A, B, C, D and E but they will only display A & D on the first day. Then, they will take them off the shelves and replacing with B & C later on. The reason being, they wanted customer to come again and again because they will replenish new books/titles on different day. Oh crap for the customers but it is indeed smart move on BBW side.
And so, we spent hours there, I'd even managed to have supper, don't worry, there's a cafe inside, where you can eat while calculating your budget or deciding what genres that haven't been in your basket yet. Yeah, that is me 🙈 #guilty. Opps..forgot to mention, it is advisable for you to bring luggage/carrier to carry your books, or not if you want to building up the muscles. Most of the books I bought are true accounts and some children books for Hanif Aiden. I am tempted to buy all the hard cover recipes book, but being me, at the end of the day, I would actually Google the recipe instead. My total spent was about RM150+ for more than 10 books. Not bad huh? Wise spending *pat shoulder*. Now, all I need to do is to actually find time to read them all (-___-)
