Beijing - 2nd day

As promised, here I am, posting up another entry on my Beijing trip! So, it's our second day here and it started quite early I must say. Itinerary for that day started as early as 8.00am! After experiencing some advance culinary misadventure the day before, I think I made a great decision by not taking breakfast :P

Our trip started by going to Jade Store. As usual, every place we go, they would show us a demonstration as part of the promotion that their stuffs are good yada yada. Here, they showed us on how to determine whether the jade is fake or original. But, that wasn't attract me much. In this store also they have silks and table cloths! Ok, this is it! Perfect place for me to splurgeeee. But, everything I purchased here wasn't even mine :'( This was the place where I spent the most and regret it soooooo much! The silks are expensive here, but come to think of it, it's worth it because if we compare to Malaysia, with the same design, it will be double the price! I regretted to buy table cloths here because they were expensive. I thought they were cheap (well, if compared to Malaysia, it is CHEAPER), but actually I can get it much cheaper the next day. Again, how do I know that right? That's what we call tiada rezeki :)

Jade pillow. You put this on your pillow.

Silk. Pretty expensive here :/

Next stop was Crystal Shop. Yeah, I must admit that all their crystals are nice and pretty. But, our intention to go to Beijing is to spend money on something cheap. Not something that we can get from Sabah! Oppsie. Come on, it's China dude! So, we just walked around, taking pictures and decided to take off early. Little did we know, that was the reason our tourist guide pissed off with us. From there, I learnt that actually every place that the tourist guide brought us, if we purchased their stuffs, the tourist guide will get commission. He didn't say it directly but since one of us knows Mandarin, she's the one that informed us. He just said that we need to stay there following the time frame. If it's one hour, then be it. Although it would take another 5 minutes before 1 hour, he would never let us out from that store. But, if most of us purchasing something there, sehari suntuk kau nak duduk situ pun takpe!!

That was why before entering any of the stores/shops, we would be given a card each. So that, when we purchased, we must present this card to them and they would collect it. I guess, it is as a proof when our tour guide wanted to collect their commission later. Well, of course after knowing this, all of us felt pissed off with him too. I mean, it's our money, so it's our right where and when we want to spend it! He acted so unprofessional because after this very incident, whenever place that we went, he refused to tell us the story/history. How unprofessional is that?! But, it's fair since we've given him names plus with thousands of kejian and cacian. Well, of course behind him!! LOL

Demonstration. Crystal spectacles bagus katanya..

Pretty!

mana tak marah, orang suruh beli kristal korang bergembira bergambar :P

Later we went to Great Wall of China! Oh..how I couldn't wait to go one of the 7 wonders of the world. Well, being sulky from all of us, Ali the tour guide refused to tell us any story of the Great Wall. pfft. He even promised us to take our picture there but as sulky as he was, he didn't. There were many people there. I didn't climb that much because the path and stairs are stiff. Curam gila weh! Plus, with the gayat me, I didn't want to take any chance. I just took few steps up and it hit me. No stamina at all. I should exercise more..But seriously, the view is breathtaking. MasyaAllah. I can't imagine how these people built this Great Wall then.

Seeeeee..curam kan? Who's gonna catch me if I fall? Ahaha. gedik

Since all of my friends decided to climb the Great Wall, Beeb and I went down and killed our time visiting the shops and fooling around. We did some shopping though. Unfortunately, the prices here were so much higher! Note to future visitors, please do not buy anything here. Everything are bloody expensive and they don't allow bargain. You can get same items with cheaper prices at their market. Must be because this is one of China most visited places and got many foreign visitors, that's why the price here are crazy. But, I did buy a t-shirt and hat here anyway (-_-). Oh yeah, another reason why Beeb and I didn't climb higher because we want to save our energy for another 2 days in Beijing. (such an excuse eh? haha). But it's quite true though because my roommate, Mas, she complained her feet ache that night.

What Beeb and I up to when others went climbing..

Beeb and I both wore our Panda hat that day which we bought the night before, then a lady from America took our picture. She said we are cute with our Panda hat..muahaha. Well, I don't think this is important, but still I want to put it in my blog!! hohoh. After so much of energy used, it's time for lunch! This is the restaurant nearby. It's a double stories building where the lower floor are souvenir shops and restaurant at the upper level. I bought few more table runners here. Much cheaper compared to the Jade shop earlier :/

Lunch

Then, we went to Medicine shop. Since Ali is pissed off with us and told us to inform him whichever shops that we not interested to just listen the demonstration and straight get out from there afterwards. This medicine shop sells medicine like koyok, massage oil and more. They even gave us a koyok sample which are way too strong from what we have here in Malaysia. I kept that in my bag and it smells of koyok (-_-). Even my candies that I kept inside my bag tasted like koyok too. hmmph.

Kedai ubat

Later that evening, it's the moment that we've been waiting for! To go to the mallllll! It's called Silk Street Mall. From reading the itinerary, I thought it's a place that sell cheap silk. But hell no. This is the worst place which I'm pretty sure all of us hated it. One thing, the items are expensive although they are fake for god's sake! The people there are sooooo rude! I've never met such a rude people like that. If you do not want to buy the items or just want to looking around, don't you dare asking for a price. They will shout at you, yelling like pontianak, pull your arms and scolded you with such rusty words if you didn't buy. Even one of my friend cried when she being scolded. ahaha..sorry Alin :P Well, I asked one of the shop how much is the price for this particular bag. She told me it's 1800 yuen! Crazy, for a fake bag it costs you RM900.00! So, I walked out, then she pulled my hand and said she wanted to give me 200 yuen but I didn't want though I really like that bag. So, I just walked out from that shop with Beeb and she started yelling at me, "Hey lady, hey lady!" I pretended that I didn't hear and keep walking, and she yelled, "Hey lady, are you deaf?!!". I was so shocked because never in my life people shouted at me like that. But, it's their way of selling I guess. Because I saw this Arabian guy also yelling and shouting with the seller. They even almost got into the fight, but when the Arabian guy got the price he wanted, both of them happily chatted and laughed after that (-_-)

Oh..welcome to hell. Do not enter if you have soft heart :P

McQueen!

After being scolded by people here. Masing-masing hilang mood nak shopping

Camwhore

Before returning to our hotel, we dropped by at this Halal restaurant for dinner. They were many Malaysians there. Little that we knew, next to our table was a director of this one company (forgot the name). We chatted with him a bit and he told us, that was his company trip to Beijing. We sure did such an impression to him because during we were there (before we chatted with him), we were laughing like crazy, made fun of each other, clapped our hands when the food arrived and shared our experience earlier at Silk Street Market with our full blast voice volume! Suara masing-masing memang bangsa halilintar. haha. After the introduction of himself (director of this engineering company) and told us his next company trip is Korea, my friend joked (which I think partly serious) that she wanted to apply for a job there and he just kept quiet. He must be thinking he would be crazy if he ever hire any of us to work under him! ahaha. Come on, we're on vacation anyway, it's the time to have fun to the fullest! :P

Ze restaurant

Berebut-rebut! Perangai haha

That's all for my second day in Beijing. Wait for another entry! :D
