Ruth Sahayana Live In Malaysia

Assalammualaikum wbt,

Oh my God, I am so behind all the events in my life right now. I have so many things going on that I want to update but time is surely being envious of me. I hate to say I’m busy but that’s what it is I’m facing. I’m so caught up with routine and work when at the end of the day, all I want to do is just sleep. I hardly watch TV nor Netflix anymore, think sooner or later we’re going to terminate them. *Update: My husband has already downgraded our Astro subscription.

So, last March, out of sudden, my dear friend Fadhlina whin I went to Britney’s concert with texted me to accompany her going to Ruth Sahanaya concert. Well, I know Ruth is a good singer but admittedly, I don’t know her song man except one, Kaulah Segalanya. It really is an impulse decision because the concert were like few days away! When I bought the tickets, only like 5 or 6 seats left, such a luck for us indeed.

The concert were held at Philharmonic Orchestra, KLCC. I went there by LRT after working hours as the concert only will start at 8.30pm that night. Being a smart person that I am, I only took a glance at the tickets and confident the concert will be held at Plenary Hall, like where Yuna last concert were held. When I reached there, I feel weird to see no single banner nor people hanging around despite it’s almost 8pm. So I asked the concierge and he said that the Philharmonic hall is at the other end while I was at the other side of KLCC. Stupid me, had to walk all over KLCC again. Note to self, always read properly and stop assuming!

I met Fadhlina there and we had a good time chatting and taking pictures of each others, mostly hers because she is naturally photo-ready and shameless of people looking at her hahaha! It was my first time went to Philharmonic hall and gosh, it was a wonderful experience. Ruth’s voice brings me goosebumps. Although I don’t know most of her songs (well everybody that night are too), but it was an enjoyable performance, wait, enjoyable is underrated word to describe. It was incredible, extraordinary performance! Where the hell does she gets extra air to get the high pitch voice like that, must have extra lungs I assumed.

The show was full house, majority are ehem older ehem people. Even an uncle sat next to me questioning:

Are you a fan of Ruth?’

‘Well, more or less yes, I’m here because of her voice’

‘Ohh, I thought you guys were forced by your parents to be here, you’re quite young’

‘Yes, I thought so, everybody here are like our parents’ age!

Right back at ya.

The hall is terrific guys, it was well-sound-proofed that any phone didn’t get a single service in there. Which is good where you can focus on the performance and which is bad you can’t do live feed for your Instagram. Well, if we do get the network service, we still can’t update anything because every corner of the seats, they assign one guard to monitor if anybody using phone for recording *eyes rolls*. Philharmonic hall is like Istana Budaya where there is a dress code and guidelines you must follow, unlike to any other hu-ha concert I’ve been. But being a young rebellious ladies that we are, Fadhlina and I record the show, hidingly, she covered me and I covered her alternately. And the quality is hmphhh.

There were 2 sessions for the show, and I can tell everybody in that hall tonight were there for one song only, Kaulah Segalanya. She is smart though for putting that song in the last number. Well, even if she’s put that song as first, I would still stay until the end because the tickets are expensive, no really, because her powerful voice. Thank you Ruth Sahanaya and thanks to my friend, Fadhlina for initiating this idea. To more concerts with my girl (specifically those celebs my husband don’t favor).
